Mumbai: Actress Soniya Bansal, best known for her participation in Bigg Boss Season 17, has described her time inside the controversial reality house as one of the most intense experiences of her career so far.
Having earlier appeared in projects like Naughty Gang, Dubki, Game 100 Crore Ka, and the series Shoorveer, Bansal stepped into national spotlight with Bigg Boss 17. In a candid interview, the actress reflected on how the show accelerated her recognition while teaching her valuable life lessons.
“My journey has been full of learning and growth,” said Bansal. “One big milestone was being a part of Bigg Boss, because it gave me recognition and helped people know me better. Apart from that, my work in films and music videos has also been important for me. Every project has taught me something new, but the ones where I got to show my real emotions mean the most to me.”
Though her stay in the Bigg Boss 17 house was relatively short, her straightforward personality and emotional moments earned her significant attention from audiences across the country. The show, hosted by Salman Khan, remains one of the most-watched reality programmes in India, often credited with transforming the careers of its contestants.
Speaking about returning to reality television, Bansal maintained a balanced view. “I’m open to doing more reality shows, but only if the concept is interesting. Bigg Boss was a very intense experience, so I would like to do shows where I can show a different side of myself or learn something new.”
When queried about popular international-style formats currently trending in India, she expressed genuine excitement. “I think shows like Rise and Fall or The Traitors are very exciting. They involve strategy and smart thinking, which I enjoy. I would love to try something like that because it challenges you in a different way,” she added.
Bansal also opened up about her personal philosophy and drive. “I am very ambitious, but I would also like to stay grounded. I always want to grow and do better work. My ambition keeps me motivated and helps me stay focused on my goals,” she shared.
Emphasising her strengths both as a performer and an individual, she continued, “As an actor, I think my strength is that I can adapt and try different kinds of roles. As a person, I believe I am strong and positive. No matter what happens, I try to stay calm and keep moving forward.”
Looking to the future, the actress outlined clear professional goals. “In the future, I want to do good films, OTT projects, and maybe even work internationally. I want to do roles that people remember and connect with. I also want to keep learning and growing in my career,” Bansal concluded.
Industry insiders observe that many Bigg Boss contestants are now strategically expanding into digital platforms and international content. Bansal’s willingness to explore intellectually demanding formats such as strategy-based reality shows signals a maturing approach among the new generation of actors who seek both visibility and personal development.
Her comments reflect a thoughtful balance between ambition and humility — a combination increasingly valued in the fast-evolving Indian entertainment industry, where public recognition through reality television often serves as a launchpad for more substantial acting opportunities in films and OTT series.
With a growing body of work across cinema, web series, and reality television, Soniya Bansal continues to carve a distinct identity for herself. Her journey highlights how intense experiences like Bigg Boss can serve as powerful catalysts for self-discovery and career progression when approached with the right mindset.
