Mumbai: Actor Akshay Nalawade, known for his powerful portrayals of Garud Dev in Shiv Shakti: Tap Tyag Tandav and Kakbhushundi in Ramayan, revealed that his athletic build has been both a blessing and a limitation in his acting career.

“I have faced some typecasting due to my athletic build. I often get roles related to action or tough characters, especially warriors in mythological shows. But that’s just one aspect; otherwise, I’ve played a variety of roles throughout my career,” he shared.

Akshay also spoke about his rooted approach to storytelling, emphasising that challenging societal norms through his work has never been his goal. “I truly believe in our culture, religion, generation, and region. Everyone has their own set of beliefs, and I would never want to hurt them in any way through my acting. If I ever portray such a character, I would ensure it doesn’t hurt anyone’s sentiments,” he added.

Passionate about India’s heritage, Akshay expressed his desire to bring stories of unsung heroes to the screen. “I’m a proud desh bhakt (patriot). I feel we know so little about our real-life heroes—our kings, our history. Today, people often know more about other countries than their own. "If someone wants to post vulgar content, they can, but Instagram isn’t the platform for it. Many people have zero idea what they are doing and still post such content just for views and money. I want to say to these people – if you can’t make the online world better, at least don’t make it worse."

She further clarified that her intention isn’t to judge anyone but to remind them that every platform has its purpose and Instagram is definitely not meant for pornographic content. She urged for better quality filtering to protect young teenage users from negative influence, concluding that social media should be a place to inspire and motivate people rather than spread obscenity and cringe culture.

Rajasthan has long been a preferred backdrop for Bollywood and Hollywood films. According to Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, Saif was brought to the hospital at 3:30 a.m. following the attack. “His injuries are significant, with one wound near the spine. A team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthesiologist Dr. Nisha Gandhi, is attending to him,” Dr. Uttamani said.

The intruder allegedly broke into the actor's residence in the middle of the night, attacking the house staff before confronting Saif. Despite being unarmed, the actor fought back in an attempt to protect his family, which includes his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two children, Taimur and Jeh.

A source close to the family described the terrifying ordeal, saying, “Saif showed immense courage, fighting off the attacker to safeguard his family. Unfortunately, he sustained severe injuries in the process.”

Kareena, who had reportedly returned home from a party around 1:30 a.m., was present in the house along with her children when the incident unfolded. She and the rest of the family remained unharmed, though the attack left them shaken.

Both Saif and Kareena’s teams have issued statements addressing the incident and requesting privacy during this challenging time. “There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan’s residence last night,” Saif’s team confirmed. “He is currently undergoing surgery, and we request fans and the media to remain patient and avoid unnecessary speculation. The matter is under police investigation.”

Similarly, Kareena’s team reassured the public about the family’s safety. “Saif sustained injuries while defending his family. We urge everyone to allow the police to carry out their investigation and not jump to conclusions. Thank you for your concern.”

The Mumbai Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. Three suspects have reportedly been detained for questioning, although further details remain undisclosed.

Deva, starring Pooja Hegde alongside Shahid Kapoor, is set to hit theatres on February 14, 2025. It's always been very volatile and on the radar for disrupted peace. It's always looked through the lens of either of the two different ideologies- pro India or anti-India. As we will are celebrating India's independence, it's very important to understand the importance of freedom in a state like Kashmir. That's what they have always fought for in their mind, their sense of freedom which they feel they hadn't got. Independence is supposed to be celebrated by each citizen and it's about doing it together. Kahwa celebrates the thought of togetherness, humanity and peace against war*

Kahwa is set against the backdrop of the aftermath of the encounter of militant Burhan Wani in Kashmir. His death led to the longest single spelling curfew in the state. In Kashmir, the relationship between the army and civilians has always been rocky, with the latter looking at the former as the ones trying to subdue them, while the army has looked at the civilians with suspicion. Kahwa uses this difference to spread a message of hope and positivity as it shows a tale of a tea seller and an army guy in Kashmir, who bond over conversations over tea.

The evening certainly promises a multi-sensory journey. Along with Soulful Ghazals 
by renowned group of artists (Sangeet Lahiri on vocals, Vishal Dhumal on keyboards, Ustad Farooque Latif Khan on sarangi, Ashish Ragwani on tabla, and Deepak Marathe on harmonium), guests will embark on a culinary adventure, featuring a pickle tasting and cupping session, followed by mouthwatering snacks and a unique fermented dessert, all crafted by Goosebumps Culinary Art.
