Indian actress Vidya Balan has been appointed as the national ambassador for the second phase of the 'Sanjeevani: United Against Cancer' programme by Federal Bank Hormis Memorial Foundation and News18 Network, with Tata Trusts as the knowledge partner.

Through a public service message under the campaign #TimeNikaaleinScreenKarein, Vidya Balan appeals to people to take out time to get screened for cancer on time. The campaign aims to change people's attitude towards early cancer screening and spread awareness. Cancer is one of the most common causes of death worldwide, but early detection can make it easier to prevent and diagnose it earlier.

Vidya Balan said, "Screening is an important process that helps detect cancer before symptoms appear. Through this program, I will try to dispel myths and misconceptions about cancer screening and encourage people to get tested regularly."

MVS Murthy, Chief Marketing Officer, Federal Bank said, "Our aim is to promote the importance of regular testing and early diagnosis. The Sanjeevani program aims to raise cancer awareness and help patients."

Deepshikha Goyal Surendran, Brand and Marketing Head, Tata Trusts said, "As a leader in cancer care, we are always striving to promote early detection and regular screening. With Vidya Balan joining this campaign, we hope that this message will reach people across India and save lives."
